DAN
Dan has been playing music for over 20 years, delighting crowds with his vocal wizardry, his awe inspiring guitar skills, and his endearing personality. As the acting Manager & Inspirational Leader of Highway West, Dan is responsible for handling booking, scheduling, and bringing refreshments.
He excels at bringing refreshments.
The heart and soul of the band, Dan is the glue that holds Highway West together.

MARTIN
A man shrouded in mystery, Martin's guitar work & vocals propel Highway West to greater heights. Whatever the musical style of the song, Martin is willing and able to complete the sound. Whether on Acoustic or Electric Guitar, 6 String, 12 String, or Pedal Steel, Martin's licks help define Highway West.
He also excels at bringing refreshments, but allows Dan to do that...
... because Martin is a giver.

DREW
Drew is the ultimate band member. Providing the solid bass line that links the band's music together, Drew's desire to learn & move the music forward is unequalled.
But he wasn't always a bass player. He used to play guitar in a local Christian band. But when another guitar player wanted to join, instead of keeping his position, Drew took the role of servant. He bought a bass and started taking lessons to better the band .
Drew is Highway West's energy & spirit. His enthusiasm & joy are more contagious than pink eye. And far less irritating.

DOUG
Doug's eclectic drumbeats & poignant harmonys drive the essence of Highway West. Another giver, like Martin, Doug is willing to do whatever is necessary to get the desired musical result. Doug's contributions on stage are shadowed by the work he does off-stage to bring the bands technical needs together.
Doug's hobbies include experimenting with Bullhorn vocalizations and burning wood. Not necessarily in that order. In fact, the wood burning is way more important.

BRIAN
A self taught player, Brian has been playing guitar for over 13 years. With muscial influences ranging from Hank Williams to Tom Waits to Paul Simon to Neil Diamond, Brian's wide range of musical interests have helped make Highway West as musically diverse as it is. His uncanny eye for musical detail & ability to derail any performance or practice with inane banter & poor jokes make him both valuable and detrimental. To be nice, we'll say he's a mixed blessing.
If Dan is the Heart and Soul of Highway West & Drew is the Energy & Spirit, Brian is the Persistent Itching. Sometimes scratching that itch takes the band to explore new musical areas. But mostly, it just leaves you with a rash. |
